At maturity it typically reaches 4–6 m in height and 3–5 m in width. Allow room for a compact rounded crown above the graft; soil, water, exposure and pruning all influence its final outline.

How to care

Plant in fertile, well-drained soil. Water deeply through the first growing seasons and during prolonged dry spells later on. Top-dress with mature compost once a year in spring, keeping it clear of the stems. Keep shoots emerging below the graft removed and lightly thin or shape the crown only when needed.
