About this plant

Royal Beauty crabapple has weeping branches, purple-tinted leaves, deep pink spring flowers and small dark red fruits.

Its branches make a cascading crown controlled partly by graft height, an attractive outline even when the deciduous leaves have fallen.

Best used for

Use as a compact focal tree near a path, in a lawn or in a courtyard.

How to care

Plant in fertile, well-drained soil. Water deeply through the first growing seasons and during prolonged dry spells later on. Top-dress with mature compost once a year in spring, keeping it clear of the stems. Remove damaged or crossing wood in dry summer weather, avoiding heavy pruning of this flowering tree.
