'Renate Steiniger' hydrangea has broad green leaves and rounded flower heads that develop blue tones in suitable acidic soil.

Use for summer colour in a sheltered border or generous container.

Give the plant enough space and light to show its natural form.

Plant in moisture-retentive but well-drained soil and mulch the root area. Keep the soil evenly moist during establishment and water again whenever the upper soil dries. Apply compost or a slow-release hydrangea fertiliser once in spring; flower colour may change with soil pH. Remove faded flower heads in spring and avoid hard pruning, as next season’s buds develop on older stems.
